Cubed tells the story of my personal journey with cryptocurrencies. This 12-minute experience explores the highs and lows, the joy and anxiety, the shifts in velocity, and the ever-changing landscape of this potential revolution. Is there an end game for this movement and when will it come? Are we in a subdividing countdown towards disappointment or are we hurtling towards a new beginning?

The Experience

Inspired by the work of ‘Light and Space’ artist Larry Bell, the experience takes the form of a traditional real-life sculpture terrace. 4 simple cubes are presented to the viewer, seemingly trapped behind their glass cases.

This virtual sculpture terrace, much like its real-world counterpart, explores the relationship between the light, the cubes, and the new forms created from their intersection. However, in this world, the cube can control time, physics, and the elements.

Light Transmission and Caustics studies

The following videos are studies into the replication of real-life glass materials, and the way in which they can interact with light, in a virtual world. At this moment in time, these representations of reality are simply not possible in a virtual reality experience due to performance requirements. They will instead serve as a future aspiration for the world of cubed. This experience will be upgraded and updated on an ongoing basis as technology evolves and supports more accurate representations of reality.
